Should I Get A Second Opinion About My Car Accident Case?

Second Opinion for Car Accidents

Hey everybody, Sahm from Century Park Law Group, and today we’re discussing the need for a second opinion on your car accident case.

The Simple Part

What we advise all of our clients is, when your involved in a car accident, whether or not you need a second opinion depends on whether or not your attorney is doing what they’re supposed to be doing. When you’ve been involved in a car accident, you need to have two claims resolved. The first of which is the property damage claim. Meaning is your car repairable? If it is, it should be repaired within a couple of weeks. You should be put in a rental car at the same time. Similarly, if your car is totaled, then you need to get your cars paid out and put in a rental during that time as well. That is the simple part of a car accident.

The Hard Part

The more complicated part is the injury claim. And those are not resolved until you’re back to health. So what we advise all of our clients that have been involved in a car accident is you need a second opinion if your attorney is not doing what is necessary. How do you determine that? Well it’s pretty simple. If your car has not been inspected by the insurance company in a timely way, meaning within a couple of days. If you’ve not been put into a rental car in that time, these are all red flags. Moreover, if your treatment for your injuries has not commensed as well, that’s another red flag that your attorneys are not doing everything possible to resolve your property damage claim, and ultimately your bodily injury claim.

Cost of Consultation

Similar to when you’re involved in an injury and you go see a doctor. If you don’t feel particularly confident or safe in that doctor’s opinion, you’re going to get a second one. However, when you get a second legal opinion with us, it’s free. No consult is ever charged to the client. Moreover, and better yet, if we do take on your case through a second opinion, there is no charge to you as well. We will deal with your prior attorney and all of our attorney’s fees as well as the old attorney’s fees are on a contingency basis and they’re shared. Meaning the attorney’s only get paid when you get paid, and they’re paid on a percentage basis. That’s what it means to be on a contingency basis.

Are You Honest?

So if you’re involved in a car accident, and you’re not getting all these things handled by your lawyer, that is a red flag that you’re not being properly represented, and you should immediately seek a second opinion. And why not, when it’s free? Trust me, after you’ve consulted with our attorneys, you will understand what is right and what is wrong in regards to being properly represented. So if you ever have any questions, you have all the legal right to get a second opinion. Moreover, your attorney should not be insulted. Because if you do seek a second opinion, and it turns out that your present attorney’s doing everything possible, we will advise you of the same, and tell you, “you don’t need a new lawyer for your car accident. Your lawyer is doing a good job. They are handling everything that they need to handle.”
